Outcomes of Workshop

This workshop will enable you to:

  • This workshop aims to equip departmental heads (DHs) with the necessary knowledge and skills to:
  • Understand the different terms used in the quality assurance process.
  • Understand how to optimally utilise existing assessment methods, forms, tools, documentation, processes, and systems towards quality assuring the value chain in education.
  • Prepare departmental heads to identify non-compliant contexts that impact negatively on reliability (credibility), fairness and validity.
  • Re-align stages of Quality Assurance in education and equipping the departmental head to closely monitor and guide the drafting of the assessment plan as part of the integrated teaching and learning process; and using assessment tasks as a benchmarking activity.
  • Providing guidelines to standardise performance evaluation and ensure an objective approach by individuals and team(s) to identify and meet the need for improved performance.
  • Collecting and recording reliable and valid data (quantitative and qualitative) as direct evidence for achievement and moderation.
  • Provide training to departmental heads to ensure they are adequately equipped to execute their professional responsibility, use e-platforms, identify challenges by doing a SWOT analysis, and provide support and intervention to colleagues based on evidence such as the QMS developmental plan, valid data and records.
