Outcomes of Workshop

This workshop will enable you to:

Identify different ways of approaching a list of prescribed poems and choose the way best suited to your teaching
Analyse a poem
Offer a critique of the method of analysis with other colleagues
Offer constructive advice on how to improve the suggested method of analysis
Develop an appreciation of the importance of effective and meaningful assessment and consider the best ways to assess poetry
Use a checklist to ensure that you have taught the poem effectively
Reflect on your own teaching and be able to propose a plan to implement changes where necessary

Gr 10 - 12 language teachers, DHs and SESs
