This workshop will enable you to:

• Identify map symbols on a map
• Use coordinates to locate places on the map
• Use lines of latitude and longitude to identify places and features on a topographical map
• Understand the movement of the Earth on its own axis (rotation) and its movement around the sun (revolution)
• Understand why we use South African Standard Time (SAST)
• Determine distance and scale on a map
• Identify and analyse topographical and orthophoto maps
• Identify contour patterns on a map
• Work with satellite images
