This workshop will enable you to:

Understand cognitive development and its diﬀerent domains
Diﬀerentiate between language and mathematical emergent skills
Understand the importance of the cognitive development activities
Establish baseline knowledge of the cognitive development skills
Understand how cognitive development forms part of the Grade R syllabus in preparation for school readiness
Acquire skills to further enhance the use of the cognitive skills in the Grade R classroom
Implement an integrated approach towards language and mathematical development
Recognise the value of the child being ready for formal schooling
