This workshop will enable you to:
- Know what the Balanced Language Approach entails
- Understand the role sight words play in teaching reading in the Foundation Phase
- Know how to use different techniques to teach sight words to learners on the Beginner Reading and Intermediate Reading Levels
- Understand the role vocabulary plays in teaching reading and comprehension in the Foundation Phase
- Know how to use vocabulary strategies to broaden the vocabulary of a Foundation Phase learner with focus on the advanced reading level
- Understand where sight words and vocabulary fit into CAPS
