This workshop will enable you to:

Know what the Balanced Language Approach entails
Understand the role sight words play in teaching reading in the Foundation Phase
Know how to use different techniques to teach sight words to learners on the Beginner Reading and Intermediate Reading Levels
Understand the role vocabulary plays in teaching reading and comprehension in the Foundation Phase
Know how to use vocabulary strategies to broaden the vocabulary of a Foundation Phase learner with focus on the advanced reading level
Understand where sight words and vocabulary fit into CAPS
